Working While the Add-in is Closed

You can safely close the Checkmark Plagiarism add-in panel while continuing to work on your document. All writing data, including counts and plagiarism analysis, is saved securely to your document — not to external servers — ensuring your progress is never lost.

Installation

Windows (Desktop Word)

For Microsoft Word on Windows (including Word 2016, 2019, 2021, and Office 365), install using our dedicated Windows installer:

1. Download the checkmark_plagiarism_addin.msi installer.

2. Double-click the downloaded MSI file and complete the setup wizard.

3. Launch Microsoft Word. The Checkmark Plagiarism add-in will automatically appear in your Word ribbon.

macOS, Word Online & Office 365

macOS users, as well as Word Online and Office 365 users, should install the official Word Add-in from the Microsoft Marketplace:

1. Open the Checkmark Plagiarism Microsoft Marketplace listing.

2. Click Get It Now and sign in with your Microsoft 365 account.

3. Open Microsoft Word on macOS, in your browser, or via Office 365, and the Checkmark Plagiarism add-in will be available in your add-ins ribbon.
